Many factors.
1. Handling (the principal)
2. The envelope size and shape.
3. The amount of gas in the envelope and the space available for cooling itself.
4. How do I mount (side), hanging, standing up.
5. How much heat is conducted through the base and is the basis
6. When the lamp prevents the exchange of heat to the air efficiently (set in a narrow clay?).
